Deadheading is a raycasting, single-player, boomer-shooter inspired FPS game in which the player has to make use of alternative weapons (specifically gardening tools) as opposed weapons typically found in FPS games. The game takes around 15 minutes to play from start to finish.

You play as an ex-FPS protagonist forced into an early retirement after peace is miraculously achieved, both across Earth and on an intergalactic scale. As part of a program to integrate action heroes into this new peaceful society, she is offered a job at a local botanic garden. However, with aliens now frequently visiting Earth, they bring with them invasive plants, and she arrives at her first day on the job to find the place overrun with alien flora capable of moving around by their roots, and is tasked with getting rid of them. Fortunately, it seems some of her skills from her previous occupation still remain.

This game was made for this year's Abertay University DES101 solo jam, based on the theme 'roots'.

• Left mouse button to shoot
• Esc to open the menu
